Learning multiple languages isn’t just a skill—it’s a gateway to sharper memory, stronger focus, better problem-solving, and enhanced multitasking. Beyond academics, it fosters empathy, cultural appreciation, and confidence, preparing our students to thrive in an interconnected world.
That’s why, since 2019, King-Chavez Neighborhood of Schools has proudly offered our Dual Language Program. All 4th-5th grade students at Arts & Athletics Academy spend half their day immersed in Spanish and the other half in English, developing fluency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing in both languages. Teachers tailor instruction to each student’s pace, ensuring everyone grasps concepts fully and progresses confidently. We also provide extra support for students whose first language isn’t English, helping them achieve proficiency and earn ELPAC Reclassification.
Our ultimate goal? For every student to graduate with the California State Seal of Biliteracy—an achievement that opens doors to colleges and careers, celebrating their hard-earned bilingual skills.
